How do you reset the data on a pokewalker?

I started a new game on pokemon heart gold, and i found my pokewalker unusable, it still has the data from my last save file on it, and i can find no way to delete the current file on the pokewalker, if you could help. i'd be very pleased, ta in advance :DHow do you reset the data on a pokewalker?
According to a forum post on GameFAQs:





';For those of you out there wondering how to clear the Pok茅Walker (i.e. you wiped your HeartGold/SoulSilver save game), I finally looked in the SoulSilver manual and found the answer on page 51. From the main menu, choose the third option, Pok茅Walker. On the menu to synchronize the Pok茅Walker, press the Down, X, and L buttons at the same time. It will then warn that the save data will be erased and cannot be undone. Select the top option and press and hold the center button on the Pok茅Walker while highlighting the sync option. Within one second, the device will be reset to its initial state.';How do you reset the data on a pokewalker?
This should be in the pokewalker manual you got with the device (the big black thick one that has 11 different languages inside and only covers the pokewalker accessory not the game).

5 - How to reset your pokewalker accessory





From the main menu in pokemon heartgold version or pokemon soulsilver version, select CONNECT TO POKEWALKER, then on the next screen hold down on the control pad together with the X button, and press the L button. Once you've read the warning, press YES. The pokewalker accessory will then connect to the Nintendo DS system.
