How to retrieve data from a fomatted thumdrive?

I have Tried Ontrack Professional and some of recovery tools. However, I cannot retrieve any data at all? Any experts know about this or any solutions?How to retrieve data from a fomatted thumdrive?
You can also try to retrieve your data with Easy Drive Data Recovery software:

It uses unique modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is unable to detect.How to retrieve data from a fomatted thumdrive?
Once something is formatted its formatted there is no going back. It cleans EVERYTHING off of the device with way of getting it back...

Sorry for the bad luck, remember to backup (even your backups).

Redundancy
There are two ways to format a drive:

- quick format, which only erases the TOC/FAT (the 'index table' of the disk), but the data is left intact;

- full format, which wipes the entire disk

The first format is obviously easier to recover data from. The second one (when talking about a HDD, which is a magnetic carrier) requires special expensive software and usually costs quite a bunch. Due to the fact that the head of a HDD drive does not write info bits on precisely the same physical spot every time, it IS possible to 'peek' what the previously written info was there. With a special equipment it is even possible to recover data which was overwritten up to 7 times. This is why there are software packages which allow you to wipe data by writing other data over 7 times on the same spot. This makes the data unrecoverable.

As for memory sticks - I am not sure if there is a way to recover data (if a full format was performed), because it does not use a magnetic head to write, but its memory units are discrete electric units.
