How can I transfer data from one computer to another?

I have a new computer and need to take files from my old one and place them on this one. Obviously a usb flash drive would work, but that might take several trips of adding and removing files. Is there a better way such as a CD or even connecting the computer's together and moving data that way?How can I transfer data from one computer to another?
if u now have LAN Cards and the cable, that will do just by using simple network, which xp provided for users

whats your system again?

hope this help =)How can I transfer data from one computer to another?
You could get a PC-PC transfer cable (They sell at Wal-Mart for about $20), they have two USB ends and a big lump in the middle (housing the transfer hardware) and you can just transfer data across the machines like that.

Or you could just get a cheap external hard drive, that'd work, too.
Upload your files to free server and then download them to your new computer.

If you have a CD burner, burn you files as data files and ... you know the rest ....
