The first thing to do is to record your ';givens'; -- the temperature, the illumination from the lights, the number of brine shrimp eggs you'll be using in each container, the amount of water you'll be using in each container, the salt formulas to be used in each container, whether you're having the lights on all the time or simulating a day/night cycle.
Basically, you want to describe your set-up exactly enough that another independent person could set up the same experiment exactly, by reading what you've written.
Anyways, you record:
time of observation, and number of brine shrimp larvae at that time for each container. You need to make these observations at regular intervals (say, 1 hour intervals).

I think that's pretty obvious.
There are other questions, though, e.g. of temperature and illumination -- that would have to be answered through other experimentation.
